Lead Video Technician

You will be known for:

– Leading the Audio Department and being a resource for the Production Management team

– Assisting/directing audio show prep

– Skillfully interpreting and communicating production related technical documentation

– Advancing audio systems and associated infrastructure

– Equipment maintenance and repair

– Creating innovative audio designs

– Maintaining effective communications and working relationships with vendors, and project team members

– Documenting and communicating with shop management any equipment issues discovered on show site

– Keeping Allied up to date in the audio department and suggesting new purchases

– Assist with quoting, RPO, and pull sheets to ensure proper equipment is being utilized

– Assist and lead audio training for Allied Staff and contractors

– Maintain and grow a healthy audio team/culture

– Working in the role of technical staff or production lead based on scheduling availability from the Sr. Production Manager

– Other duties as specified by the Sr. Production Manager

– Strong writing proficiency and visual design skills

– Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills

– Ability to develop, lead, motivate and supervise working teams

– Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team

– Demonstrated planning and organizational skills

– Basic working knowledge of non-linear video editing systems, digital media creation software (training opportunities available)

– Vectorworks/CAD experience (training opportunities available)

– Ability to accomplish goals working through formal and informal channels, with diplomacy and tactfulness

Required Qualifications:

– At least 3 years experience in the industry

– Video switching console knowledge

– Working knowledge of video standards as they relate to recording, streaming and routing systems

– Ability and willingness to travel (as allowed by any current government restrictions)

– Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

– Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

– Clean driving record, ability to obtain and retain a commercial driving health card

Lead Audio Technician

You will be known for:

  • Coordinating the Video Department and being a resource for the Production Management team in the process of project development.
  • Assisting/directing video show prep lie. design and program switching and routing systems, ensuring all components are accounted for on pullsheets).
  • Skillfully interpreting and communicating production-related technical documentation.
  • Advancing capacity of in-house video systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Overseeing and executing equipment maintenance and/or repair as needed.
  • Maintaining effective communications and working relationships with vendors, and project team members.
  • Documenting and communicating with shop management any equipment issues discovered on show site.
  • Keeping Allied up to date in the video department and suggesting new purchases as client needs dictate.
  • Working in the role of technical staff based on scheduling availability from the People Operations Coordinator.
  • Other duties as specified by the Sr. Production Manager.

You will be known for:

– Responsible for managing client expectations with the primary objective of maintaining and building client relationships.

– Developing quotes for client consideration and being responsible for the execution of projects.

– Skillfull interpreting and communicating production-related technical documentation, processes, and procedures to clients and others in a way that is easily understood.

– Facilitating of all production aspects of an event including hiring labour, site inspections, client planning meetings, trucking,     equipment sub-hires, and production scheduling.

– Maintaining effective communications and working relationships with clients vendors, and project team members.

– Documenting and communicating with shop management any equipment issues discovered on show site.

– Working in the role of production technical staff based on availability and approval from the Sr Production Manager

– Other duties as specified by the Sr Production Manager

– Demonstrated ability to develop and meet budget goals, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines
